Angelina, we haven't had too many predator problems. I've seen an opossum wandering around the hood, and we did have baby raccoons digging under last summer for about a week. We have a bunch of felled trees in the woods area and so just roll logs around the bottom, dig down a bit to make a trench wide enough to lay the logs in. So far so good. Moving them is easy. We just mount a 2x4 section on each corner like an arm, get a couple of burly neighbors to help us move it by lifting it about 6 or 8" off the ground and inching our way along. The girls just follow along inside and squawk a bit, but we haven't injured anyone thank goodness.

I love the way you are thinking. I am itching to get some stuff in the ground but must build all new raised beds first and must build a spot for the chickens too. How do you move yours around? I mean, how do you keep them safe from predators if you have a chicken tractor?

If you haven't already you should really get in touch with the ACGA, who moved to Ohio a few years ago (they're in Columbus). Tons of resources and great people. There are a couple of Ohio specific grant opportunities you can find on their website. Their resource guide kicks ass!

Exciting plans. I think grants are the way to go for coming up with $ to make your work paid instead of volunteer, but then I know nothing about it. I'm rooting for you!

Good morning! IWe have also increased our use of tissues around here. Time (actually past time) for Quercetin. Great about the possibilities for change!
I put in more peas and some chard. Maybe more later.......
