I see a red wall and I want another coat
I managed to get the photos loaded into iPhoto, and cropped the giant flash flare out of this. It’s only one coat so not very smooth yet, but you can get the idea. Don’t you love the crap brown carpet? It’s staying around until Lila’s a little older because it hides everything, which is not always a good thing. I can’t think of a worse way to start the day than to schlump down the steps in the morning and plant my bare foot firmly in an invisible pile of cat barf before I’ve even had a cup of coffee.

I’m just saying.

"In summer we live out of doors, and have only impulses and feelings, which are all for action, and must wait commonly for the stillness and longer nights of autumn and winter before any thought will subside; we are sensible that behind the rustling leaves, and the stacks of grain, and the bare clusters of the grape, there is the field of a wholly new life, which no man has lived; that even this earth was made for more mysterious and nobler inhabitants than men and women. In the hues of October sunsets, we see the portals to other mansions than those which we occupy."

Great minds — Eve and I also have red walls that look totally like THAT color red in our house!!! (Mine’s in my feng shui career center, natch. And our money corner - our bedroom — is goldenrod. Heh.)

Ah, the squishy feel of cat barf between your toes– there’s nothing like it. Love the red! Can I ask from what compass direction the lovely window light shining on it is? My feng shui curiosity must be slaked

Dawn, it’s an awesome feng shui remedy, this red! I’ll have to pull out my house map to remind myself what area that is, but I do believe it’s the career center. I think. Our bedroom is the a paler, creamier terra cotta. It was that way when we moved in and it’ll be the last room we change because it’s pretty nice…tho not exactly what I want.

Darcy, I took that photo at around 4pm, and the light slants in out of the west. The wall itself is north/west. We get wonderful winter morning and afternoon light in the living room.

Oh, niiiice red! That’s the color I’m planning on painting the bedroom.
And yeah…cat barf first thing in the morning = yuck!

Ooh, gorgeous - what a lovely deep red. It must be so energising to walk past, especially first thing in the morning

Miss Cee, it’s so funny you should mention that…Chris and I were saying that very thing, how enlivened we feel walking past it in the morning.

Love that red! Every time I come into our red family room, I smile and think how much I love it.

Hi Ali! Welcome…and thank you. I love the red wall, too. And now that we fixed the green, I’m loving it all…now if we could only FINISH painting.
