I grew up in Brimfield...my parents still live there. I've lived in Shaker Heights for the past 24 years.
Let us know how the speckled rome paste tomato turns out. I was very tempted to order seed but had order enough tomato seeds for this year.

This was such an enjoyable post, it's almost as though you were right there in my head. Those are the three asparagus varieties I wanted to plant too. I planted crowns last year but in unamended soil and I want to build raised beds for them.

I actually showed some restraint this year, so far. It's early days yet.

I'm so happy you're going to squeeze that garden in in spite of work. Your plan is a good one.

This fall I'm going to get an extra freezer and then I'm going to make champion amounts of rattatouille to freeze (and other things too) so that I can buy myself gardening time next year. So useful.

I love growing food. I love reading about other people growing food.

Favas have grown really well for me and I always grow them now because they are so exquisite fresh in pasta and they're hard to come by fresh.

You've got me so excited to go out there and dig!

Hog Hearts are excellent tomatoes - I didn't grow them, but I sold them last year at the plant sale and later in the summer bought some from the vendor who donated the plants. Excellent!

I went a little crazy ordering from Seeds of Change last year--esp. squash. I do not have space for a garden where I live, but instead have everything shipped to my mom in Vermont.
