A poorly executed ode to why it’s so quiet around here
It got cold and snowy.
My computer is in the unfinished basement.
My basement feels windy, as if it’s outside.
I can hardly stand to sit there and check my email.
I have to come up with cute names for 100 new products.
I’m dealing with copy for two catalogs.
Oh, and sell sheets for the above.
We’re starting up new packaging.
(See 100 new products)
That’s by mid-February.
Work is kicking my arse.
The kids are kicking what’s left of it.
Sleep is my only friend.
Except when I dream about fighting with my kids.
And not meeting my obligations at work.
Then sleep’s a hater, too.

Well, please know your REAL friends are standing by, sending you hugs and good wishes, hoping the cold will pass, that products get named and that life once again resumes its jolly course! Work and motherhood all at once are tough, for sure.
But your wonderful wit will save the day, I know!

Why not program yourself to have a dream like mine last night where I got to be Mulder from the X-Files’ partner?
O.K. a little levity to break up your insanity there. I hope things get calmer, and soon, babe.

Your *not real* friends are here for you, too.
And do what I do - just call the 100 things minor variations of “Inexpensive Fun Product Glad To Be You With Luscious Hair 2007.”

It sucks having one’s ass kicked by anything, but with a list like that you’ll just have to reserve your energy until things are calmer-then you can kick back!
I wish I had more snow.
Hang in there!
