A lick and a promise
Chris and Lila hung out in the driveway last night, watching a spider crawl across the car, and pretending to take the Tangerine On Wheels for a spin. All day this child had her tongue out, licking at her own face like a deranged lizard.

We finally figured out that she was enjoying the spot of dried chocolate ice cream I missed when washing her face, just under the edge of her chin.

"In summer we live out of doors, and have only impulses and feelings, which are all for action, and must wait commonly for the stillness and longer nights of autumn and winter before any thought will subside; we are sensible that behind the rustling leaves, and the stacks of grain, and the bare clusters of the grape, there is the field of a wholly new life, which no man has lived; that even this earth was made for more mysterious and nobler inhabitants than men and women. In the hues of October sunsets, we see the portals to other mansions than those which we occupy."
~Henry David Thoreau

She’s just adorable! What a cutie. And yes, that is one orange car! What kind is it?

Thanks, Dana. I’m partial to her myself! The car is a ‘63 Corvaire! Egads.

Does your husband really look kind of like John Doe, or is it just my imagination?

She does look sort of surprised, in that last one, to find the tongue to be safely inside the mouth.
How cute is she. Jeez.
